Na Koa lose third straight game to Stars

Na Koa Ikaika Maui suffered their third consecutive loss to the Hawaii Stars on Saturday, falling 3-1 in a Pacific Association game at Wong Stadium in Hilo.

The Stars’ Ronnie Loeffler (2-3) gave up one run in seven innings. Tony York allowed two hits in the ninth, but got the last three outs to earn his fifth save of the season, retiring Angus Roeger and D.J. Dixon with two runners on to end the game.

Na Koa, which lost for the sixth time in seven games, scored in the fifth when Maui High School graduate Kalaika Kahoohalahala was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Na Koa’s Eri Yoshida (2-4) permitted three runs in five innings. Tucker Cordova followed with three scoreless innings of relief.
