New sauce company to introduce product
Two Chicks In A Hammock LLC, a new sauce company on Maui, will be premiering its first product, Backyard Juice Hawaiian Chili Pepper Water, at Cash n’ Carry Warehouse in Kahului from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday.
The company will be serving grilled steak bites with sample cups of their sauce.
Backyard Juice contains no water, monosodium glutamate or red dye and is locally made from mostly local ingredients and packaged in locally made bottles.
Cash n’ Carry will be selling 13-ounce bottles for $5.99.

Store announces grand opening in Kihei
Awakening in Paradise, a bookstore, boutique and gallery, will be opening in the Kihei Center with an 11:11 a.m. Friday ribbon-cutting.
The new store, whose grand opening celebration lasts through Sunday, is located at 1215 S. Kihei Road near Long’s Drugs. The celebration will feature music from jazz musician Omar Camara, “Eddie and the Promises,” and Lei’ohu Ryder and others.
Awakening in Paradise is a sister store of Lotus Heart Books and Gifts in Haiku and offers books, art, clothing, jewelry, crystals, music and incense. The new Kihei gallery and boutique will feature the art of Lavahna Taylor and will offer exhibitions of works of other local artists.
The store also will offer classes, workshops, intuitive and Tarot readings, holistic practitioners, beginning meditation, the “Course in Miracles,” aura photography and monthly psychic fairs.
Awakening in Paradise is the sixth store created and operated by Judy Levy.
