Maui surfers eliminated from Reef Hawaiian Pro
All five Maui surfers who remained in the Reef Hawaiian Pro entering Saturday were eliminated during the round of 64.
Ian Walsh of Haiku was third and Dusty Payne of Lahaina fourth in the same heat of the opening event of the Triple Crown of Surfing at Alii Beach Park in Haleiwa, Oahu. Lahaina’s Granger Larsen and Kuau’s Billy Kemper bowed out with third-place finishes, and Haiku’s Kai Barger was fourth in his heat.
The holding period for the second Triple Crown event, the Vans World Cup, begins Nov. 24.
