Churches invited to be part of Angel Tree program

Angel Tree makes every effort to serve every eligible (age 18 or younger) child to receive a gift at Christmas.

During this summer, Maui Community Correctional Center volunteers Chaplains Pua Hashimoto and Rob Brown will coordinate with the incarcerated applicants who follow restrictions as a child’s father, mother, stepfather or stepmother. The child will be told that the gift is from their mom or dad who loves them. Also, a brief, personal message to the child will be written on the gift tag.

All churches are invited to participate by at www.prisonfellowship.org or by calling (703) 478-0100 in Ashburn, Va.

Complete applications are sent to Prison Fellowship Ministry in September.

Great effort to locate each child’s caregiver will be done. If the caregiver refuses to participate or there are not enough Angel Tree volunteers in an area, gifts are not delivered.

Volunteers will call caregivers to verify children’s ages and addresses.

Best of all, come alongside these families and give them an opportunity to experience the transforming love of Jesus Christ.
